There is so much to truly say about the history of the Rottweiler that
I would have to write a book to truly go in depth about this wonderful dog. So I am only going to skim the top of the history
to get you familiar with this wonderful breed. During the reign of the Roman Empire it is believed that during many campain's
the Rottweiler walked beside the Roman legions as they conquered nations. From that time until now the Rottweiler is still
a saught after companion used by many armed forces whether military or police units. The Rottweiler has been used to protect
and serve in both the wealthy and the so called common man's home. Known for there fearlessness, obediance, loyality and
superb companionship its no wonder this wonderful breed is saught after by both industries and homes alike. Rottweiler's have
been used to protect merchants, butchers, cattle, and many other profession's that are in need of security. The Rottweiler
is truly a working dog, however it is most definatly a loyal companion to the home. Unfortunatly today many are exploiting
this wonderful breed for money, with no concern to the animal's welfare or life. It has become a fashion statement for many
to own a Rottweiler or a Pit Bull, yet leaving out the importance of raising and training and proper socialization of the
dog. Unfortunatly, due to this we have heard the media talk of the vicious behavior of these breeds when in actuality it is
the ignorance of man that has caused these horrific acts to have taken place, and of coarse the breed's suffer. I am by no
means an animal rights activist I am a realist, if your going to own any of these wonderful breeds please be a responsible
dog owner! You may wonder what all that has to do with the history of the Rottweiler? It has every thing to do with there
future as a breed, in twenty years from now will there last twenty years of history be known as a vicious breed or a wonderful
saught after breed for both protection and family.... I believe that is up to you and I. Let's train and socialize this breed
and let it stand out from the rest, The Majestic Rottweiler!!!
